Optiemus Unmanned Systems to Invest ₹140 Crore for Deployment of 5,000 Drones by 2025 End.

Optiemus Unmanned Systems (OUS), a subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom Limited, announced on Thursday its plans to invest approximately ₹140 crore to deploy 5,000 drones in the agricultural and mapping sectors over the next year.

Aiming to generate service revenue between ₹600-900 crore by the end of 2025, the company's drones are priced starting at ₹2.50 lakh each. "The potential for this business is substantial due to the benefits it offers. We are poised to leverage our drone technology expertise to provide cost-effective and efficient solutions for agricultural and defense needs," stated Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman of Optiemus Infracom Limited, during the launch event.

Gupta revealed that the agricultural drones would be deployed starting this Rabi season, followed by the Kharif season next year, aiming to attract more farmers. The drones will be used in precision farming and spraying at affordable prices, promoting widespread adoption across India. This initiative is expected to help farmers enhance farmland productivity and yields while reducing input costs, ultimately increasing their incomes.
