Om Metals Infra plans to turn EPC contracts

Mumbai: Om Metals Infraprojects is looking to turn an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor for hydro power projects.

The next step in the value chain is civil construction.

In terms of value, the gate component of hydro projects does not exceed 10 per cent of the project cost.

However, in irrigation projects it is 30-40 per cent of the project cost as multiple gates are needed. The major cost is civil construction.

The company hopes to create value in the new line of business.
