Odisha Soars: First MRO Facility to Boost State's Aviation Infrastructure.

The Odisha government has successfully finalized all arrangements for establishing the state's inaugural Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Bhubaneswar. This significant development is a strategic move aimed at fostering a robust aviation-linked economic network within the state, according to an official statement.

The initiative falls under the state's New Destination Policy, spearheaded by the commerce and transport department. As reported by PTI, this policy is designed to enhance both regional and international air connectivity through a comprehensive framework of structured incentives, route support, and facilitation for airlines.

"Within a short span, the policy has significantly enhanced Odisha’s aviation footprint both globally and domestically," an official stated. "A total of 13 new international and domestic flight services have been operationalized under the New Destination Policy, opening new corridors for trade, tourism, and regional integration." The addition of the MRO facility is expected to further solidify Odisha's position as a burgeoning aviation hub in India.
