NTPC Renewable Energy Secures 1,000-MW Solar Power Project.

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), has secured a 1,000-MW solar power project from the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) at a tariff of ₹2.56/kWh.

The company emerged as a successful bidder during an e-reverse auction conducted by UPPCL on January 3. The auction was part of a competitive bidding process for selecting solar power developers to establish 2,000 MW ISTS-connected solar photovoltaic power projects across India.

A regulatory filing disclosed the development on Saturday, adding that NTPC REL is now awaiting the official letter of award from UPPCL.

This win marks another significant milestone for NTPC REL in its efforts to bolster India's renewable energy capacity and aligns with its strategic vision of contributing to the nation's clean energy transition.
