NRIs Keen on Contributing to Water Grid Project in Telangana : KTR.

IT minister KT Rama Rao has said that NRIs were evincing interest to contribute for the Water Grid project in Telangana.

He participated in a video conference from Silicon Valley with the officials at the Secretariat on Friday.

The minister said NRIs were showing interest in the Water Grid project. NRIs in Dallas came forward to fund the Water Grid project for 20 fluoride-affected villages in Nalgonda district, he said adding the NRIs would adopt these 20 villages.

Rama Rao enquired the officials about the progress of intake wells. He wanted the officials to send videos and photos of the progress of the works. The scrutiny of detailed project reports (DPRs) of Water Grid should be completed immediately with the help of officials of WAPCOS, Rama Rao said. He directed panchayat raj officials to constitute coordination committees under the chairmanship of district Collectors for effective coordination of Water Grid project works. Rama Rao wanted panchayat raj commissioner Anita Ramachandran to launch an exclusive website helping those NRIs who wants to contribute for development of their native villages.
