NMDC Hits Record February Production of 4.62 Million Tonnes.
The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) achieved a record production of 4.62 million tonnes in February, marking an 18% increase over the same period last year. This is the company’s highest-ever output for the month. NMDC also reported sales of 3.98 million tonnes during the period.
For the financial year up to February, cumulative production stood at 40.49 million tonnes, while sales reached 40.20 million tonnes, the company stated on Saturday.
“The consistent growth in production and sales lays a strong foundation for NMDC’s ambitious expansion plans,” the statement said.
Amitava Mukherjee, Chairman and Managing Director (Additional Charge), highlighted the company’s operational momentum, attributing the growth to an efficient mining ecosystem. “We have lined up an expansion plan for the next financial year and are exploring new opportunities. Our efforts will continue to propel India’s self-reliance,” he said.
NMDC remains committed to reaching a 100-million-tonne iron ore mining capacity by 2030. “A massive capital expenditure plan has been announced to achieve this target,” the company added.
