Mumbai textile merchants' fest from Feb 20

Mumbai: Mumbai I Textiles Merchants' Mahajan has organised 'Textile Festival 2006' from February 20-23 at Mulji Jetha Cloth Market, Mumbai.

The event is organised to celebrate 125 years of formation of Mumbai Textile Merchants' Mahajan, a textile trade body. Mulji Jetha cloth market is 134 years old.

During 'Textile Festival 2006', all shops will be converted into stalls. There will be special lucky draw coupons for the customers with 51 prizes. There will be special nine awards in three categories for best display & best products for participating stalls.

'This will be the biggest fabric fair. The products include shirting, suiting, sarees, dress materials, school uniforms, furnishings, hosiery, made up and garments, a Mahajan official said.

The Mahajan is planning to organise a series of seminars on subjects such as VAT, new stamping provisions, FDI, retail- revolution, supply chain management and globalisation.
