MRRD completes 21 uplift projects in North

Kabul: Twenty one rural development and construction projects have been completed in Samangan and Badakhshan provinces, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) said.

The MRRD said the projects, including reconstruction of a 81-kilometers long road, a water reservoir, cleaning of four canals, digging of 21 water wells and extension of some seven kilometers of water supply pipe, in the two provinces were completed.

With completion of these projects that totally cost more than 30 millions Afghanis, 8,500 families will benefit from the facilities provided under the projects, said the statement.

These projects were conducted under the National Solidarity Program which aims at promoting development works in rural areas. MRRD which administers the NSP says more than 30,000 projects have been conducted in rural areas in the past three years under the initiative.
