MP to generate energy worth Rs. 10,000 crore from crop waste: Pradhan.

Union petroleum and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently said Madhya Pradesh government is aiming at generating 10% of energy consumed in the state through use of petrol, diesel and LPG, from crop waste and garbage.

“In the next 10 years, we have planned to generate energy worth around Rs. 8,000 to 10,000 crore from crop waste, including, wheat, corn and sugarcane and garbage in the state,” said Pradhan, while addressing a huge gathering of farmers in Indore.

Later, while speaking to the media, Pradhan claimed that an anti-Indian and feudal force was behind the ongoing farmers’ agitation against the new agricultural laws.

“There is a force in the country which is basically anti-Indian and feudal. People associated with this force are also against nationalism and the country’s self-sufficiency. This force is behind the farmers’ agitation,” Pradhan alleged.

“Who stood with China against its invasion (on India)? Who imposed the Emergency in India? Who ran nepotism in the country between 2004 and 2014? Those involved in these works are now engaged in instigating farmers,” the minister added.

Pradhan also alleged that the farmers’ agitation is being instigated to build an atmosphere against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to create chaos across the country.
