More power sought from Talcher unit.

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, met Union Minister for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal in New Delhi on Friday seeking additional allocation of power from the Central power generating stations to the union territory.

A release said Mr. Narayanasamy apprised Mr. Goyal of the power situation in the union territory and demanded 100 MW of power from the Talcher Thermal Power Station in Odisha. The Chief Minister demanded subsidy to promote roof top solar system and to take steps to prevent transmission and distribution losses in the union territory.

Terming the meeting 'cordial', Mr. Narayanasamy said the Minister had promised to consider the union territory’s case.
