Ministry of Housing sanctioned 172 housing projects under JNNURM

The Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja has said that total 55 projects under the Sub-Mission Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP) and 107 projects under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP)- components of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) coordinated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation have been sanctioned for construction of 1,54,750 and 99,224 dwelling units respectively. 6 projects under BSUP and 8 projects under IHSDP were returned to the State Government for modification. No project under BSUP and IHSDP is pending with the Government.
