Medwell Ventures plans to expand home medical services to 10 cities.

Medwell Ventures, a provider of round-the-clock home medical services, will be opening its branch in Mumbai soon.

The privately held company, which acquired Bengaluru-based Nightingales Home Health Services, has just started its operations in Hyderabad.

'Nightingales will a flagship service provider. We will be launching our services in Mumbai soon and plans are a foot to expand to over 10 cities across the country,' Vishal Bali, Co-founder and Chairman, Medwell Ventures told Business Line.

The estimated investment in the next four to five years is about $30 million and it had so far invested over $4 million.

At present, the company has a subscription-based customer base of over 8,000.

It sees an opportunity in the home medical services segment for patients suffering from chronic diseases the market for which is estimated at $3 to $5 billion, according to Bali.

The target customer segments for Medwell are middle-class and upper middle class.

On the technology front, Medwell is open to partnerships with medical devices manufactures in view of the increasing miniaturisation of medical devices that could be used at home, Bali said.
