Max Fashion plans to open 35 stores.

Max Fashion India is planning to open 35 new stores during the financial year 2016-17, according to its Executive Director Vasanth Kumar.

Speaking to newspersons after unveiling a logo to mark the tenth anniversary celebrations recently, he said the company, with 135 stores across 50 cities, was expecting to close the current financial year with a turnover of ₹1,800 crore. Last year, it posted ₹1,400 crore turnover.

“We are now focussing on contemporary middle-class and youngster, as 30 per cent of our business is now coming from the 18-25 age group,’’ he said. Plans are under way to set up about six exclusive youth format stores in major cities.

Expansion is also on the cards in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with focus on tier-II locations such as Guntur, Tirupathi, Nellore and Vizag, he added.
