Makeover for railway station.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu recently said the renovation of Harbour Terminus railway station in Willingdon Island would be completed by March 2017.

He was speaking after dedicating the 224-km-long electrified section between Shoranur and Charvattur (Cheruvathur) to the nation.

He further assured that the Old Railway Station located behind the High Court of Kerala too would be renovated to world-class standards as a green station, considering its proximity to Mangalavanam bird sanctuary.

'The State government has to remove and resettle encroachers from its premises.

'The pace of renovation works will depend on this. The Southern Railway General Manager will take up the issue with the State,' he said.
