Maharashtra Land Allotment for Jindal Stainless Expected in Half a Year.
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) is optimistic about receiving land allotment from the Maharashtra government within the next six months for its ambitious greenfield project planned in Raigad. This development is crucial for the company's proposed ₹40,000 crore investment aimed at establishing a 4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) melting capacity over a 10-year period.
The substantial project is slated for phased construction, with the initial phase anticipated to become operational within the next four years. Jindal Stainless had formalized its commitment by signing an agreement with the Maharashtra government in March of this year, signaling a major economic boost for the region.
Currently, Jindal Stainless boasts a combined capacity of 3 mtpa across its two existing plants located in Hisar, Haryana, and Jajpur, Odisha. The company is already in the process of a significant expansion, aiming to ramp up its overall capacity to 4.2 mtpa by the fiscal year 2027. The proposed Raigad facility will further solidify JSL's position as a leading stainless steel manufacturer, addressing growing domestic and international demand.
