LVPEI opens Eye centre in Rajgangpur, Odisha.

L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) has opened its OCL Eye Centre in Rajgangpur, Odisha. It will be a secondary level eye specialty hospital offering examination and treatment of all common eye diseases.

Half of all care will be offered free-of-cost or will be subsidised for economically underprivileged people. It is equipped with all necessary modern eye care equipment for examination, diagnosis and surgery. Full-fledged out-patient care will be also offered and eye surgeries will be commencing soon.

There are also provisions for overnight stay in the Eye Centre though most modern eye surgeries are day-care surgeries and do not need admission. Over a period of time the OCL Eye Centre will also establish fixed facilities for eye screening at the village level.

The village and community level eye care programs will be comprehensive - preventive, curative and rehabilitative.
