L&T unit bags contract

Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro’s construction division has bagged a design and build contract from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority for the construction of an elevated access road from the Western Express Highway, Mumbai, to the Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport. The contract valued at Rs 287.37 crore is to be completed in 30 months. The work involves design and construction of 1,850 m six-lane corridor of pedestrian and vehicular subways, resurfacin g of roads of the highway, including construction of a 1,150-m six-lane elevated access road as well as one 165-m tunnel. The elevated access road will be built using segmental construction technique. The project will provide easy access to and from the Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport being developed by the Mumbai International Airports Ltd.
