Livestock sector to get Rs two billion

Lahore: Punjab will spend Rs two billion on 10 new and eight on-going development projects for the development of livestock sector during the current financial year. This was stated by the Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab, Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan while presiding over a departmental meeting.

Jehanzeb said that livestock sector was playing an important role in improving the national economy and there was a need to develop this sector on scientific lines to meet the increasing protein needs of ever increasing population of the country. Secretary livestock averred that milk plant were being installed in Layyah and Sialkot under private-public partnership to increase milk and meat production in the province.
