Limited operation at Gwadar Port this year, says Minister

Islamabad: The Gwadar deep seaport would become operational for limited activities during the current year, Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Director General Ahmed Bukhsh Lehri said.

Speaking in a television programme, he said, 'the Gwadar deep seaport would hopefully be operational within next seven to eight months.'

According to him, the GDA's technical committee had made recommendations regarding the selection of port operator. The DG said presently Gwadar deep seaport had limited storage and reshipping capability.
