Lanka Gov to develop backward rural roads
Colombo: The objective of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his administration is to develop the backward rural areas to the level of the urban areas, said Minister of Highways T.B. Ekanayake at Panduwasnuwara development projects.
Four concreted roads invest costing Rs. 7 million were opened by the Minister T.B. Ekanayake on this occasion.
He said a large number of undeveloped rural roads have been constructed in the Kurunegala district.
The Minister said the major development projects initiated in Waymaba by this administration could provide more job opportunities for thousands of unemployed young men and women enhancing their living conditions and the rural economy as well. He said the Mahinda Chinthana was not a mere statement.
It has been a practical and pragmatic implementation for the accelerated development in this country.
This ceremony was organised by SLFP organiser of Panduwasnuwara, Wayamba Provincial Council Chairman Dharmasiri Dasanayake. Panduwasnuwara PS Chairman Rangith Upali also spoke.
