Lanco Infratech puts plants with 3,000 MW capacity on sale to reduce debt.

Lanco Infratech is aiming to raise Rs. 20,000 crore by selling power plants with capacity of 3,000 MW, stepping up efforts to liquidate assets just days after selling an electricity generating station in Karnataka for Rs. 6,000 crore.

The Hyderabad-based company has appointed investment bankers to help it with the sale, which could be India's biggest such, and potential buyers have started due diligence, people aware of the development told ET.
