Kovai Medical Center Plans Expansion in Chennai.

Coimbatore-based Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) is expanding into Chennai with the acquisition of land in Sholinganallur. The company’s board has approved the purchase of approximately 1.11 acres of land and a building from MTL Instruments Private Ltd, a division of power management company Eaton.

KMCH stated in an exchange filing that the acquisition, valued at up to ₹60 crore, will be funded through internal accruals and bank loans. The company describes the move as part of its "expansion of project" strategy.

In addition to the purchase, the board has also approved leasing the same property from MTL Industries for an annual rent of ₹3.6 crore, as per regulatory disclosures.

KMCH, a leading multispecialty hospital in Coimbatore, provides healthcare services across major medical fields. The group reported a revenue of ₹355 crore for the quarter ended December 2024. It operates its largest facility on Avinashi Road, along with smaller peripheral centers across the city.

The company’s leadership includes Nalla G Palaniswami, Thavamani Devi Palaniswami, and Arun N Palaniswami.
