"Kothari Industrial Corporation to Invest ₹150 Crore for Drone Business Expansion"

Chennai-based Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. (KICL), a subsidiary of the DC Kothari Group, has unveiled ambitious plans for a substantial expansion of its drone business. The company is set to invest over ₹150 crore in this endeavor over the coming years.

In a strategic move, KICL has entered the realm of agriculture drones by introducing a fleet of drones specifically designed for the precise spraying of nano-urea. To facilitate this expansion, the company has created a dedicated drone division.

One of the key initiatives in this expansion plan involves the establishment of a drone manufacturing unit, which is intended to significantly augment the company's drone fleet, expanding it to encompass more than 100 drones. While specific details of the drone production plan are still being finalized, the company has projected that production may commence as early as the next year. Notably, KICL aims to offer drones that are meticulously designed, developed, and manufactured in-house.

KICL's commitment to enhancing drone technology extends beyond its commercial interests. The company has already made strides in this field by establishing the "Kothari Drone Station" for the Chennai City Police a few months ago. This cutting-edge drone station underscores KICL's expertise in deploying drones for various applications, ranging from crime prevention and search and rescue to traffic management and disaster response.
