Kolkata to Host India’s Largest EV Charging Hub, Second Largest Globally After China.

India’s largest single-site electric vehicle (EV) charging hub is set to be established in Thakurpukur, South Kolkata, according to Ashhok Kapoor, Managing Director of EzUrja, the company behind the project.

The upcoming facility will feature 300 charging stations, making it the second-largest EV charging hub in the world, trailing only China’s largest site, which houses 650 chargers at a single location, Kapoor said.

The EV hub will be developed on nearly two acres of land at an abandoned plant previously owned by PSU Andrew Yule & Co, he told PTI. The project is expected to significantly boost EV infrastructure in the region and support India’s broader push towards sustainable mobility.
