Klaus Multiparking sets up mfg facility in Pune

Bangalore: Klaus Multiparking has set up a manufacturing facility in Pune in a joint venture with Automag Group, a leading supplier of equipment for leading automotive companies, to produce the mechanised parking system sets.

The equal joint-venture partners will be investing €1 million and the production will start next year.

Automag initially was marketing Klaus Multiparking systems in the country.

Klaus Multiparking entered a partnership with Automag to install multiparking systems in the country since early 2002 and has decided to go for the manufacture of the equipment in view of the huge potential for parking facilities, said Mr Gunther Siederer, Managing Director of Klaus Multiplarking.

He said his company supplies mechanised to computer-aided parking system solutions to its customers.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Nitin Bhave, Managing Director of Klaus Multipakring Systems Pvt Ltd, said mechanised car parking will help in optimising the space and free the carriageways of road, which are being used for parking of vehicles. The company hoped to provide parking space for 5,000 vehicles by the end of the year in different parts of the country, he said adding it has already set up a few facilities in the UB City in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi while extending its technology and services to other cities such as Pane, Jaipur and Nagpur.

With the car population expected to increase to eight million by 2020 from 1.5 million now and the shrinking real estate space acting as a constraint for providing parking facilities, mechanised and automated multi-level parking system would ease the pressure on major cities.

Klaus Multiparking System has projected revenue of Rs 40 crore during the current fiscal, against its initial revenue of Rs 1.25 crore in 2004, Mr Bhave said.
