Kandikal Gate flyover to open next month.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar exhorted the engineering wing to complete the Kandikal Gate flyover in all aspects by the month-end considering the long delay in commissioning it.
He also noted that a lot of traffic congestions were caused at the junction on account of the pending works. The Commissioner along with the senior officials of the engineering, town planning and also zonal commissioner (south) Balasubramanyam Reddy visited Kandikal Gate flyover work site, Chandrayangutta flyover and the Narqi Pul Bagh area on Saturday as part of his inspection.
Mr. Kumar explored the idea of opening the Kandikal flyover being built at a cost of Rs. 23 crore, in December first week and once it is done, the Uppuguda flyover could be taken up. He also visited the newly constructed community hall at Narqi Pul Bagh and announced that an urban health centre would be opened in the area. To solve the traffic congestion, the engineering wing was also asked to explore the possibility of widening the existing Chandrayanagutta flyover.
