Kamal inaugurates 13 uplift projects

Karachi: Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 13 development projects costing Rs 560 million in Bin Qasim and Landhi Towns. The projects included 8 major roads, 4 parks and a water supply project in Goth Ali Akbar Shah and Goth Ibrahim Haidery.

Of these projects, 5 major roads and a water supply line, have been carried out by city government while 3 internal roads and 4 parks constructed by Landhi Town administration.

The 4 km long road from Korangi Crossing to PAF Base Korangi, will be constructed by city district government in 12 months at a cost of Rs 180 million. It will have 5 feet wide service roads for pedestrians and a central island.

On both sides, RCC nullah for storm water drainage is also being constructed while construction of a bridge on the nullah is also part of this project.The 3 km long 24 ft wide road from Jamot village to PAF Base Korangi will be completed in six months at a cost of Rs 25 million.

A one km road from Navy Road to T&T Exchange Korangi No 2 will also be completed in 6 months at a cost of Rs 5.3 million. Another 1.5 km long road in Landhi Town from Road-336 to Road-10000 road will be constructed in 6 month at a cost of RS. 20 million.

All these roads will be constructed on international ashto standard. Besides these roads, city government Karachi has also completed the lying of a water supply line to provide potable water to 70 thousand resident of Ali Akbar Shah Village in UC Ibrahim Haidery at a cost of Rs 17.5 million and inaugurated by Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal.

The Nazim also inaugurated 3 roads constructed by Landhi Town including road-12000 to Zaman Town, road from 12000 road to Shahi Masjid in UC-8 and road from Baldia Landhi Dispensary to Khawaja Chowrangi.

He also inaugurated Masoom Park, Gymkhana Ground and 2 big parks at Road-15000.

Addressing big public gatherings at different places of Landhi Town Nazim Karachi congratulated the people of Landhi and Bin Qasim Towns and said that for the first time international standard roads were being constructed in these areas. He said the development process initiated by the Haq Parast leadership will continue and all these projects will be completed by December 31, 2007. He said work on these roads started after shifting of all utilities on one side of the roads.

He said inauguration and laying of foundation stone of 13 major schemes simultaneously is reflective of the interest of Haq Parasts in the development of this city.
