Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), formerly known as Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited, has announced its latest milestone in the energy sector. The renowned Indian Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company revealed that it has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LoI) by Aramco, Saudi Arabia's energy giant, for executing EPC work across three packages of the third expansion phase of the Master Gas System Network (MGS-3) in Saudi Arabia.
The scope of the EPC contracts entails the laying of over 800 kilometers of lateral gas pipelines. While the exact value of the contracts remains to be confirmed upon contract execution, KPIL's involvement in such significant infrastructure projects underscores its growing prominence in the global energy market.
The MGS-3 initiative aims to bolster Saudi Arabia's existing gas network, enabling the provision of gas supply to various industrial consumers within the region. This strategic expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia's objective to meet escalating energy demands while transitioning away from liquid fuel consumption, thereby diversifying its energy mix and promoting sustainability.
KPIL's expertise in cross-country pipelines, processing facilities, refineries, and fertilizer plants spans nearly two decades. With a track record of successfully commissioning over 10,000 kilometers of oil, gas, and water pipelines, the company prides itself on adhering to international standards in project management, quality assurance, and health, safety, and environmental practices.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Manish Mohnot, MD & CEO of KPIL, commented on the significance of securing the Aramco contracts. He emphasized the magnitude of this achievement as a testament to KPIL's capabilities and its commitment to expanding its presence in the Middle East's oil and gas sector. Mohnot highlighted the positive impact of this sizable EPC order on KPIL's order book and its potential to drive growth in the company's oil and gas business, while also contributing to Saudi Arabia's energy transition endeavors.
KPIL remains optimistic about the successful completion of the project and its role in supporting Saudi Arabia's evolving energy landscape.
