Jupiter Electric Mobility to focus on LCV market, eyes 1 lakh unit EV sales in 5 years.

Kolkata-based Jupiter Wagons Ltd, a leading manufacturer of railway wagons, wagon components, and commercial vehicle load bodies, has forayed into the electric mobility sector through its subsidiary, Jupiter Electric Mobility.

The company recently launched its electric small truck, JEM Tez, in Indore. The vehicle features a 1.1-tonne payload capacity, catering to the growing demand for sustainable last-mile and urban logistics solutions.

Speaking at the launch event, Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons Ltd, outlined the company's EV strategy, product pipeline, and future plans. Jupiter Electric Mobility aims to establish a strong presence in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, with a target of selling 1 lakh electric vehicles over the next five years.

The company is also focusing on building a robust supply chain to support its expansion and meet the increasing demand for electric mobility solutions in India.
