Italian firm Sistem Air plans Rs. 400 cr unit in India.

Sister Air, the Italian vacuum cleaning solutions firm, is planning to invest Rs. 400 crore in India to set up an assembly unit. In a later phase, it will be converted into a manufacturing facility. It will be their third unit for the firm outside of Italy after Canada and Estonia.

The company has tied up with the Gulf-based Bin Daen group for its operations in the Asian region.

'We are looking at locating the plant near Adibhatla on the outskirts of Hyderabad. It will come in the next two financial years,' Bavani Ganti, Director of Operations of Bin Daen group (India), said.

Addressing reporters recently where the company launched its products, he said the increasing number of apartment complexes and gated communities offered good opportunity for the firm.

'In collaboration with the Bin Daen group, we will be investing over Rs. 1,500 crore in the next two financial years in setting up assembling and manufacturing locations in the country,' Fabrizio Borloni, Global Export Head of Sistem Air, said.

For now, the company would import the products from its Italian facility. 'Initially, the upcoming facility would have a capacity to assemble 1,000-2,000 units. In the first phase, we will focus on Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, before expanding to other regions,' Bavani Ganti said.

The unit comes with a base unit and a pipe that sucks the dust, 'without making any sound'.
