Ircon gets sub-station contract in Afghanistan

New Delhi: Ircon International has signed a $9.5-million contract in Afghanistan for the turnkey construction of 220/20 kV sub-station at Aybak and Mazar-e-Sharif.

The project is funded by the World Bank. The contract was signed by Mr Ismail Khan, Minister of Energy and Water, Government of Afghanistan and Mr Sanjay Chandra, Executive Director, Ircon in Kabul recently, a company release said. This is the second sub-station contract that Ircon has bagged in Afghanistan.
