International horticulture park to come up in Karnataka

Banglore: The Karnataka government plans to set up a Rs 2,000 crore International horticulture park and four mega marketing development parks, minister for horticulture, Umesh Katti, said.

The horticulture park to come up near the new international airport aims at providing facilities to farmers to export their crop.

There were also plans to set up four mega marketing development parks on a PPP model this year at Belgaum, Hassan, Kolar and Mysore at a cost of Rs 100 crore each. Four more such parks would be set up subsequently, he said.

Work on the university for horticulture at Bagalkot was on with the acquisition of land for the purpose, he said.
