Infosys gets new deal from AstraZeneca

Bangalore: AstraZeneca has awarded Infosys Technologies a multi-year, multi-million dollar outsourcing deal that covers a wide range of application maintenance services.

Infosys will provide application maintenance services to AstraZeneca’s global operations in areas of manufacturing, supply chain, finance, human resources and other corporations that would help improve operational efficiency of the pharmaceutical firm.

Without disclosing the deal size, Infosys said it would deliver services through a global shared services model that offers fixed price for outcome-based deliverables, and flexible, unit pricing for managing changes in the base scope of the engagement.

Infosys would also take over an unspecified number of AstraZeneca’s employees in Sweden and UK as part of the deal, that’s an expansion of earlier relationship.

Earlier in October, AstraZeneca had awarded a similar five-year contract to Cognizant for application maintenance services in areas of research, clinical development and sales and marketing.

Prior to that AstraZeneca had struck a $95 million, five year deal with Cognizant in March to streamline its data management.
