India's Solar Module Capacity Reaches 100 GW, Says Pralhad Joshi.
India's solar module manufacturing capacity has reached a major milestone, hitting 100 GW, according to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. The achievement represents a dramatic increase from just 2.3 GW in 2014, showcasing the nation's rapid growth in renewable energy production.
In a post on X, Joshi, who is the Minister for New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), highlighted that this progress brings India closer to its ambitious goal of having 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030.
"India has achieved a historic milestone—100 GW solar PV module manufacturing capacity under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), a remarkable rise from just 2.3 GW in 2014!" Joshi wrote.
