India, Latvia ink BIPA deal

New Delhi: India and Latvia have signed an Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPA).

Under BIPA, both countries plan to increase flow of investment and technology. The deal provides elaborate dispute resolution mechanism to settle rows relating to investments between an investor and the host government.

The dispute resolution includes recourse to negotiations, domestic dispute resolution mechanism and international arbitration.
