IHG Plans to Add 60 Hotels in India Over Next 3-5 Years.
IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its footprint in India with a pipeline of 60 new hotels scheduled to open over the next three to five years, according to Sudeep Jain, Managing Director – South West Asia, IHG.
The global hospitality giant currently operates 47 hotels in India across five brands: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. With a total of 7,719 rooms in the country, IHG has a presence in Tamil Nadu with three hotels in Chennai, offering a combined 456 keys. Additionally, the company plans to open a new property in Kodaikanal.
Jain highlighted that the upcoming projects will be strategically located in major tier-I and tier-II cities, religious destinations, and leisure hubs. On Thursday, the company is set to sign a new project in Penn, Maharashtra.
India remains a key growth market for IHG globally, and the company plans to introduce new brands, including Garner, in the coming months, Jain added, without disclosing financial details.
