IBS teams up with Air New Zealand Cargo

Chennai: Thiruvananthapuram-based IBS Software Services, a provider of new-generation IT solutions to the travel, transportation and logistics industry, has entered into an agreement with Air New Zealand Cargo to provide iCargo, an integrated end-to-end supply chain management engine.

iCargo is expected to help Air New Zealand integrate its cargo business, both domestic and international, and address the current and future business requirements of its entire air freight operation, which has seen a growth of 20 per cent in revenue during the last fiscal.

Air New Zealand has collaborated with IBS and five other cargo carriers to help build the iCargo product.

Rick Nelson, general manager, Air New Zealand Cargo, said the company’s decision to implement iCargo would open up an exciting time for Air New Zealand Cargo.

“It’s about repositioning the Air New Zealand cargo business to deliver customer value, a continuation of cargo's strong contribution to the Air NZ group, and importantly, job security and satisfaction for our people in Cargo,” he pointed out.

Air New Zealand is among the top 50 of the world’s air freight carriers and is the third major carrier, after Nippon Cargo Airlines and All Nippon Airways, to sign up for iCargo.
