Hyatt Plans Major India Growth, Targeting Five-Fold Expansion by 2031.
Hyatt Hotels expects to expand its footprint in India five-fold over the next five years, driven by a surge in domestic travel and rising consumer spending, its Chief Executive said recently.
Speaking at the HOPE conference in Goa, Hyatt Hotels President and CEO Mark S Hoplamazian said the growth reflects the broader expansion of India’s hospitality sector. “Given the growth of the industry, I would say that in five years’ time, we should have five times the number of hotels that we have today, because that’s what the market would warrant,” he said.
The announcement comes as global hotel chains accelerate expansion in India, capitalizing on a post-pandemic rebound in leisure travel among affluent domestic consumers.
