Honda Cars to expand Tapakura facility; to invest Rs. 380 cr.

Honda Cars India recently announced expansion of its production facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan with an investment of Rs. 380 crore.

The company is planning to complete the expansion by mid next year which will ramp up its capacity by 50 per cent to 1.8 lakh cars per annum.

'We will launch the third generation Honda Jazz in July this year and this car will be fully manufactured in Tapukara plant where we are increasing our production capacity from 1.2 lakh units to 1.8 lakh units per annum by mid-2016 with an investment of Rs. 380 crore,' Honda Cars India Senior Vice President and Director Raman Sharma said.

The plant currently manufactures Honda City and also some volume of Honda Amaze.
