Hindustan Power projects signs PPA with UPPCL.

Hindustan Powerprojects recently said it has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) for supplying electricity to the northern state.

'The thermal arm of Hindustan Powerprojects, as part of its PPA, will transmit 361 MW to cater to the state's base load requirement from its Anuppur plant in Madhya Pradesh,' the company said in a release.

UPPCL had placed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for 3,625 MW, with the lowest seven tariff bidders, to address the power shortage and accelerate the pace of industrialisation in the state, the release said.

'We believe the UP Government has taken a significant step in the direction of providing uninterrupted supply and more such initiatives should place the state,' Hindustan Powerprojects Chairman Ratul Puri said.
