Himadri Speciality Chemicals Eyes 100 GW Battery Material Facility Amid Rising EV Demand.

Himadri Speciality Chemicals is planning to establish a 100-gigawatt battery material manufacturing facility to produce cathode and anode materials, the key components used in electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

The company expects the proposed capacity expansion to generate additional revenue of around ₹30,000 crore once fully operational over the next five years. Himadri said the capital expenditure plans for the facility are currently being finalised, with an announcement expected in the coming weeks.

As part of its preparations for the large-scale project, the company has already commissioned a pilot plant with a capacity of 400 tonnes. The facility is expected to support smooth execution and operational readiness of the proposed commercial-scale manufacturing unit.

The expansion is aimed at strengthening Himadri’s presence in the growing battery materials segment, driven by rising demand from the electric mobility sector.
