GTZ signs MoU with MoLSamd

Kabul: The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the Afghan Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs,Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on gender mainstreaming project including Policy, human resource management (staff recruitment) and programs supporting inter-ministerial work on gender. This will result in a step towards implementing policies like ANDS, NAPWA effectively

This Memorandum will reinforce the aims of GTZ and MoLSAMD to enhance the current partner ministries at the national and provincial level to take into account gender perspectives when developing and implementing national and sector policies.

This MOU is a Contributions of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany via GTZ, supporting Gender Unit and capacity development of the MoLSAMD.

Katharina Rodrigues Principle Advisor of the GTZ-Gender Mainstreaming Project, Kabul Afghanistan said” Enhancing women’s leadership in the work place, and building the capacity of the Gender Unit in the Ministries is one of the objective of this project.

Deputy Minister of MoLSAMD, Mohammad Ghaus Bashiri welcomed this cooperation and said” MoLSAMD will provide any possible contribution to the Gender Unit in terms of cooperation and coordination with the activities of this unit. The effort of the unit would be a key to ensure sustainability and transparency.”

The MOU is signed by Katharina Rodrigues Principle Advisor of the GTZ-Gender Mainstreaming and Mohammad Ghaus Bashiri, Deputy Minister of MoLSAMD.
