Gram Sabha Nod for Iron Ore Mine.

More than 90 per cent people of Urumunda village of Banspal block gave their consent to alienation of around nine hectare of forest land in favour of Putulipani iron ore mines. They requested the authorities to take up developmental works in consultation with villagers after operation of mines starts. The consent was given at the gram sabha held recently in the presence of sarpanch of Kumundi panchayat Nityanda Dehury, ward members, Forest Committee officials and Chairman of Banspal block Jadumani Thaku. The notice for gram sabha was issued by the sarpanch seven days back.

Block Development Officer Tapas Kumar Bhoi informed the villagers about the Forest Rights Act and developmental activities of the Government.
