GIFT City, Henox Group Sign MoU for ₹1,317-Crore Cable Landing Station in Gujarat.

The Gujarat government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Henox IT and Data Centre to establish a cable landing station in the Khambhat region at an estimated cost of ₹1,317 crore.

The MoU was exchanged between GIFT City Company Ltd — a state government undertaking — and Henox IT and Data Centre during a regional AI conference held in Gandhinagar. The agreement paves the way for a cable landing station at Dhuvaran in the Khambhat region of Anand district.

“This will make Gujarat a preferred destination for hyperscale and enterprise data centres. Gujarat will also become an important gateway for global data traffic,” Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said while addressing the conference.

A cable landing station serves as the point where international subsea communication cables come ashore and connect to the terrestrial internet infrastructure.
