GAIL’s Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline Scheduled for Commissioning by December 2025.

The commissioning of state-run GAIL’s Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline project (MNJPL), a key part of the National Gas Grid (NGG), has been delayed and is now expected by December 2025, instead of the earlier planned September 2025.

The revised timeline was approved by GAIL’s Board of Directors during a meeting on Wednesday. The pipeline is classified as a high-impact project under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, India’s flagship infrastructure development initiative, the country’s largest gas utility said.

Spanning 1,707 kilometers across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, the pipeline aims to improve access to clean fuel and meet the growing demands of city gas distribution (CGD) networks and the industrial sector.
