First DMU rake rolled out from Haldia rail coach factory.

South Eastern Railway has rolled out its first diesel multiple unit rake from Haldia factory. Before this 8-coach DMU rake was flagged off last week-end, SER said, that in June it had produced first coach from this factory.

The factory, set up on an 42.5 acre land, is scheduled to produce one coach a month. Over Rs. 110 crore has been spent on setting up the factory.

This the second DMU manufacturing facility for railway coaches after the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Perambur in Tamil Nadu.
