EEPC celebrates golden jubilee

New Delhi: The Engineering Exports Promotion Council (EEPC) today celebrated its golden jubilee with the Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dixit, lighting the lamps.

The EEPC, promoted by the Department of Commerce, now has more than 12,000 members. The inauguration was followed by a buyer-seller meet. Over 75 buyers from ASAN and African countries participated in the meet to source engineering goods from India, an EEPC release said. The council has witnessed spectacular growth in export of engineering goods and services since inception in 1955-56, when exports stood at $10 million to an estimated $18 billion in 2005-06, the release added.
