Eenchakkal-Attakulangara road work to be expedited.

Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar has asked officials to resume and expedite within one month the work on installation of a box culvert at Kotthalam Junction on Eenchakkal-Attakulangara road.

The Minister, who inspected the work on Friday, said it had been in limbo for the past one month after cast iron pipes of the Sewerage Division of the Kerala Water Authority, passing through the spot, were damaged during the work to replace the worn-out and narrow culvert.

The new box culvert will be 13m in width and six metres in length.

The government has sanctioned Rs.50 lakh for the entire project, he said, adding officials had been instructed to resume the work and complete it within one month.

Traffic through the stretch, which is used to divert heavy vehicles and avoid traffic blocks in the West Fort and East Fort areas, has been affected for the last two months.
