ECNEC approves six projects in Dhaka

Dhaka: The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved six projects involving a cost of Tk 2,115 crore. The cost of the projects includes external project assistance of Tk 1,320 crore.

The chief adviser, Fakhruddin Ahmed, who is also chairman of ECNEC presided over the meeting held at its Sher-e-Banglanagar office.

The projects are: Secondary Education Quality and Access Enhancement, construction of Condom Manufacturing unit in Khulna, Rehabilitation of Karnaphuly Hydroelectric Station (unit 4&5), Digging of Srikail Oil/Gas Well
(Well No 2), Evaluation and Development of Shahbajpur Gas Field and Upgradation of ZIA International Airport.

Advisers Mirza Azizul Islam, MA Matin, CS Karim, AM Shawkat Ali, AF Hassan Ariff, Rasheda K Chowdhury, Hossain Zillur Rahman, special assistants to the chief adviser Mahbub Jamil and M Tamim attended the meeting.
