Doosan Corporation bids lowest for NTPC's Katwa project.

South Korean power equipment supplier Doosan Corporation has emerged the lowest bidder for a composite boiler-turbine-generator package at state-run NTPC's 1,320 MW Katwa project in West Bengal.The company beat L&T, India's biggest engineering conglomerate, by a narrow margin of about Rs. 4 crore, people close to the development said. The project, including land acquisition and civil construction, is expected to cost around Rs. 8,000 crore. NTPC had invited bids for the package while civil construction is being handled by another set of companies. People quoted above said Doosan quoted 5,326 crore for the boiler-turbine-generator package while L&T bid Rs. 5,332 crore.
